Peddling a bicycle through a stop sign resulted in Kevin DeHart, 49, of Ceres, being stopped Thursday afternoon by an officer who found him carrying drugs.

Officer Alex Ochoa was on patrol at 1:28 p.m. and saw DeHart blow through the stop sign at Moore and Roeding roads. DeHart had a warrant for his arrest issued by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department. As officers were searching DeHart, methamphetamine was found, earning him a new charge of possession of a controlled substance, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Greg Yotsuya.
