A 52-year-old Modesto man was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving on Thursday evening in the 1500 block of Friburge Lane.

At 5:35 p.m. Officer Eric Gallegos was patrolling in the area of Booth Road and Zurich Lane when he saw a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup make a wide left onto Zurich, nearly striking the curb and running over a pile of leaves. When Gallegos pulled over driver Gurman Singh, 52, of Modesto, he detected the strong smell of alcohol. Inside the car was his 15-year-old daughter and her 15-year-old friend.

Singh was arrested on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment.
