DUI arrest made on Nadine
Ceres Cop Car

Juan Luis Perez Villa, 36, of Modesto, was arrested early Sunday morning after he defied an officer during a traffic stop in which there were open containers of alcohol.

At 1:48 a.m., the Ceres Police officer was in the process of entering the Herndon Road entry point of the Kmart parking lot when a northbound BMW came headed for him in his lane. The officer made a U-turn and followed the driver northbound on Herndon Road and activated emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop on eastbound Nadine Avenue. Because the BMW had tinted windows, the officer asked Villa to roll down all of the windows for safety reasons and saw three other males inside. One of the men tried to hide a bottle of beer between his body and the interior door. The driver was also hiding an open bottle of beer. When the officer asked Villa to exit the car he refused. A backup officer tried to open the driver's side door but Villa pulled it shut. Villa eventually got out and was required to perform a field sobriety test. Police determined that Villa was intoxicated and was booked into the County Jail for driving under the influence.
