Two Modesto men were arrested for drunken driving during the weekend Driver’s License/DUI checkpoint in the 1300 block of Hatch Road.

Jose Reyes Mendoza, 24, of Modesto, drove into the checkpoint at 9:18 p.m. Friday and appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested after a field sobriety test and a breath sample confirmed that he was over the legal limit to drive a vehicle. His Honda Accord was then towed.

Later at 1 a.m. Saturday, Lorenzo Estanislao, 46, of Modesto was also arrested for DUI by Sgt. Travis Hudson and his Hyundai Santa Fe was towed. A breath sample showed that his blood alcohol content was over twice the legal limit to drive a motor vehicle.

Estanislao also did not have a driver’s license.
