A 37-year-old Turlock man was arrested on drunken driving and drug possession charges during an early Sunday traffic stop made by Ceres Police.
Ceres Police Officer Roger Khuon was traveling southbound on Highway 99 at 12:30 a.m., when he began following a Hyundai Santa Fe that had its headlights off. A vehicle stop was made on driver Adan Medrano, 37, of Turlock, in the area of Keyes Road and Golden State Blvd. It was immediately obvious to the officer that Medrano was under the influence of alcohol. After undergoing a series of field sobriety tests, Medrano was arrested for DUI and provided breath samples that showed he was over double the legal limit of alcohol to drive.
During a search, Medrano was found with a plastic baggy containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI and possession of a controlled substance.
