An alert Ontel Security guard observed a driver going all over southbound Mitchell Road Sunday afternoon and phoned 911 when things grew more reckless with beer cans being tossed out the windows as the driver suspected he was being followed. Police took it from there at 4:29 p.m. as the suspected drunken driver went onto northbound Highway 99 from Mitchell Road. Police caught up to the driver as he exited the freeway onto Whitmore Avenue and managed to get him stopped in the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken and blocked in with units to prevent him from escaping.

Driver Shervin Parsad, 20, of Modesto, was arrested for DUI and booked into the County Jail.
