An early Friday vehicle stop in the 200 block of Seventh Street in Ceres resulted in the arrest of a 43-year-old driver who not only was intoxicated but found in possession of a white powder-like substance suspected of being cocaine.

At 1:02 a.m., Ceres Police Sgt. Aaron Pinon pulled over Levit Delvalletello, who was driving a Honda Accord, for vehicle code violations. Sgt. Pinon contacted the driver and immediately noticed signs of intoxication. Officer Lauren Huff arrived to conduct a DUI investigation which Delvalletello performed in a manner consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol. Delvalletello was arrested for DUI and a breath sample he gave detected that he was over three times the legal limit to drive.

While searching Delvalletello, Officer Huff located a clear baggy containing the suspected narcotics. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI and possession of a controlled substance.
