A 33-year-old Modesto man was arrested Saturday afternoon for suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed his car into a curb on Hatch Road.
Someone called 911 at 1:10 p.m. to report a car being driven recklessly on Hatch Road. As Officer Adam Hall was dispatched to the area of Boothe and Hatch roads, another caller advised that a car had collided with a curb near River Oaks Golf Course and the driver was walking toward the golf course. Several other callers reported that the driver had walked onto the golf course and was seated near hole #2.
William Weitzel, 33, of Modesto, was found by police. He appeared intoxicated, was non-compliant and refused to answer questions or perform field sobriety tests.
