DUI suspect gives false name to arresting sergeant

A 27-year-old Modesto man pulled over for vehicle code violations on Tuesday evening, May 20 was arrested on drunken driving charges as well as giving the sergeant a false name.

At 8:56 p.m., Ceres Police Sgt. Aaron Pinon was patrolling the 1400 block of Mitchell Road when he stopped Brayan Ponce Alvadaro, 27 of Modesto in a Scion TC. Sgt. Pinon immediately suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Alvadaro initially provided Sergeant Pinon with a false name but his identity was revealed through the investigation.

Officer Alfredo Berriatua arrived on scene and conducted a DUI investigation which  Alvadaro performed in a manner consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol. Alvadaro was arrested for DUI and provided breath samples over the legal limit. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI and providing a false name to the police.
