A Saturday evening crash involving three vehicles at the intersection of Mitchell Road and Whitmore Avenue is being blamed on an allegedly intoxicated driver named Juan Arroyo Abundio, 29, of Ceres.

Several persons sustained minor injuries in the 9:38 p.m. crash.

Ceres Police Officer Roger Khuon approached Abundio and observed signs that he was under the influence of alcohol.

Abundio participated in a series of field sobriety tests that led the officer to make an arrest and breath samples showed he was nearly four times the legal limit to drive.

Abundio was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for a DUI causing injury.
