DUI suspect nearly struck parked car

A 42-year-old Ceres man was arrested for DUI Tuesday evening, March 2 after he was spotted by an officer driving erratically in a mobile home park.

At 5:45 p.m. Officer Tony Scopesi was in the Colony Park Mobile Home Park at 3939 Central Avenue, when he saw a Nissan Sentra being driven erratically and narrowly collided with a parked car. Officer Scopesi stopped the driver, Abel Brito, 42, of Ceres, who appeared to be intoxicated. Officer Scopesi conducted a DUI investigation and arrested Brito for driving under the influence. He submitted to a breath test which showed he was over four times the legal limit of alcohol within his system according to Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Keith Griebel. 

Brito faces charges of DUI and driving on a suspended driver’s license.
