A man and woman who were reported to be rummaging through trash cans – an illegal act in Ceres – were arrested Monday afternoon because they had warrants for their arrest.

Officer Brian Chandler was dispatched at 12:08 p.m. to the 2800 block of McNeil Drive to look into the complaint and located Michael Champayne, 59, and Lezlie Mock, 63, who both had multiple outstanding warrants for their arrest.

They were both arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
