A 23-year-old Modesto man was arrested Tuesday evening, Dec. 21 after he reportedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s Musick Avenue home and allegedly took items.

At 6:10 p.m., Officer Aaron Pinon went to the 1000 block of Musick Avenue to check out the report of a residential burglary. During the investigation the victim and Officer Pinon watched the home’s security video surveillance and saw a man enter the house after jumping into the backyard. The victim recognized the suspect as her estranged boyfriend, Derrell Allen, 23, of Modesto. The victim had not given Allen permission to come into her home or take any of her belongings. Several items in the house were taken.

Officer Jonathan Blount later found Allen near his home and arrested him. Allen had a concealed unsheathed knife in his waist band.

He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of residential burglary and possession of a dirk or dagger.
