Driving around Ceres with expired registration tags wasn't the smartest thing for Andy Caulton, 21, of Turlock, to do on May 5, especially since he was hauling around drugs. A police officer stopped Caulton for the expired sticker on his license plate and immediately smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.

Caulton was pulled over at 420 p.m. at Whitmore Avenue and Second Street. The officer conducted a search because the suspect was on probation and searchable for drugs Caulton was in possession of brown paper bag lying on the front seat which contained hash oil sandwiched between two waxed papers, a quarter pound of marijuana and scales. He said the drugs were for his personal use but the officer believed Caulton was selling and faces charges of possession of drugs for sale.
