An officer’s spotting of a car registration that expired in January 2021 led to an early Monday traffic stop of a driver of a gold-colored Lexus who turned out to be a parolee at large.

At 2:56 a.m., Officer Matthew Johnson was on patrol in the 1400 block of Hatch Road when he pulled over the Lexus and learned that Reginald Gilmore, 64, of Salida was wanted as a parolee at large along with a misdemeanor warrant issued by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. Gilmore was arrested and booked without incident.
