A 34-year-old Modesto man standing near the back door of Wing Stop aroused the suspicions of a police officer last week who learned he was a wanted for a felony charge.

At 4:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5 Officer Eric Souza rolled behind the back side of closed businesses at 1515 Mitchell Road and saw a man standing near the back door to Wing Stop. Officer Souza recognized the man as Federico Hernandez, 34, of Modesto, who had a felony warrant out of Ceres for possession of stolen property. Hernandez gave a fake name however Officer Souza confirmed his true identity. Officer Souza learned that Hernandez also had a misdemeanor warrant issued by Modesto Police Department for a drug charge. Hernandez was booked on the warrants.
