Fighting in car leads to DUI arrest
Ceres Cop Car

A couple's arguing in a pickup down Whitmore Avenue drew the interest of a Ceres officer on Saturday evening who arrested the driver for driving under the influence.

Officer Kiashira Ruiz was on patrol at 10:38 p.m. and as she approached Mitchell Road she heard yelling from inside a Chevy pickup. When the light turned green she conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver, Jose Urbina, 43, of Ceres, appeared to be intoxicated.

Officer Ron Collins, who was working as a DUI officer that evening, took over the investigation and determined that Urbina was drunk. Urbina was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI with blood alcohol content above .08 percent and driving on a suspended license.
