The attention of Ceres police was directed to a man who was illegally trying to walk on the Highway 99 onramp at Mitchell Road but was arrested for a different reason.

Police were called at 10:50 a.m. on Thursday and they found 58-year-old transient Richard Clayton on the onramp. They quick learned that he had a warrant for DUI, and driving with a suspended license out of Lake County.

Walker was booked.
