A 36-year-old Modesto man on probation and seen writing graffiti on a sound wall in Ceres Sunday morning was also in possession of illegal narcotics.
Officer Brian Chandler was patrolling the area of Richland and Woodworth avenues at 10:24 a.m. when he saw George Ortizarredondo Jr., 36, of Modesto, graffiting a sound wall owned by the city. When Officer Chandler went in to detain Ortizarredondo, he ran off. After a foot pursuit, Chandler and Officer Charles Rushing cornered the suspect in the 1600 block of Nadine Avenue where he finally stopped and complied.
Ortizarredondo’s backpack contained illegal narcotics. He was also found to be on adult probation out of Stanislaus County. Ortizarredondo was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of felony vandalism, possession of illegal narcotics and violation of probation.
