Headlights out leads police to stop car containing drugs

A 40-year-old Ceres resident was arrested early Thursday when his car was stopped for headlights that weren’t on and police found drugs.

At 3:24 a.m., Officer Matthew Vierra stopped a black Honda Accord driven by Ronald Beltran III who was found to have two outstanding arrest warrants. Beltran was arrested and a search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine. Beltran was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.
