Hit & run driver was drunk, police claim

Laurencio Lobato, 22, of Ceres, was arrested for drunken driving after crashing into a fence in the 2100 block of Fifth Street and then driving off.

The hit and run crash was reported at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9.

A witness provided the license plate of the vehicle which enabled police to track down the driver and vehicle to a residence in the 1900 block of Linda Way. Officers found the vehicle parked with Lobato in the driver's seat.

Lobato was given a breath test which revealed Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels of 0.31 percent and 0.32 percent. Lobato's vehicle was towed and he was booked for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level above .08 percent, driving on a suspended driver's license and for causing a hit and run accident.
