A home invasion robbery in Ceres on Dec. 27 led to the arrest of four suspects who were chased into Manteca.
At 10 p.m. Ceres Police officers were dispatched to a home in the 3300 block of Zurich Lane following a 911 call placed by the homeowner who reported three armed suspects attempting to force entry into her residence. Nobody was home at the time but the crime was captured on the residence’s surveillance cameras. The suspects fled the scene with several items taken from the residence.
While the suspects were leaving the area, a witness followed the suspects in their vehicle, providing updates until police were able to locate and follow it. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the suspects failed to yield and a pursuit continued into Manteca where the suspects abandoned the vehicle near Grant Avenue and Ottis Alley and fled on foot before being tracked to a residence in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue.
The pursuit involved the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s helicopter, the California Highway Patrol and the Manteca Police.
The Ceres Police SWAT unit and detectives responded and led the investigation. All persons identified as suspects in the case were arrested shortly after 3 a.m.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. The names of the involved parties were not released at this time.
