Juvenile with loaded gun arrested after short police pursuit

A 17-year-old Modesto boy was arrested Tuesday evening, Nov. 22 after he led Ceres Police on a short chase with a loaded gun in the car.

At 11:19 p.m. Officer Jon Blount patrolling Hatch Road near Richland Avenue when he saw a white Honda Accord tailgating a Jeep. Both vehicles continued northbound on Richland Avenue and stopped at the stop sign at Richland and Nadine. As Officer Blount pulled up to, he noticed occupants standing outside of their vehicles. As he got closer, the Honda drove off at a high rate of speed. Officer Blount turned on his emergency lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop but the driver failed to yield. The teen drove down residential streets at low speeds but driving over sidewalks. The vehicle eventually pulled into a driveway in the 1100 block of Bordeaux Drive and the juvenile got out and complied with police who arrested him.

Officer Blount located .45-caliber live rounds along with a loaded chrome handgun. This handgun had no markings or a serial number. 

The boy was booked into Juvenile Hall for evading a police officer, carrying a loaded handgun, being a minor in possession of live rounds and a handgun and carrying a concealed weapon.
