A Keyes man killed his estranged wife and a man before turning a gun on himself in Crowslanding, say Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department investigators.
No motive has been determined and it isn't clear why the trio ended up on Kilburn Road.
Emergency dispatchers received a 911 call at 7 p.m. on Saturday from a man who claimed he shot two people in the areaof Kilburn Road and Villamanucha Road in Crowslanding. The male, who was identified as Mario Martinez of Keyes, immediately hung up the phone. Deputies were then dispatched to the crime scene where two cars were parked on the shoulder of Kilburn Road. Martinez' body was found outside one of cars alongside the body of Mario Medina of Modesto. Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds to their upper body.
Deputies rendered aid to Maricela Martinez of Turlock who was inside the car suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was rushed to the emergency room and is expected to survive.
Stanislaus County court records indicate Mario Martinez and Maricela Martinez were married until November 2014, when Maricela Martinez filed for divorce.
