A 48-year-old woman who had been employed at the Hatch Road Kmart store was charged with embezzlement last week after admitting that she had taken $150 worth of merchandise, $50 in cash and $94 worth of coupons used improperly.

Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Keith Griebel said an employee of the store had been investigating the actions of Rosaline Jones, 48, of Newman. He called police at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday to report her.

Jones was charged with misdemeanor embezzlement.
