Officer Brittany England stopped a man on a bicycle on Saturday evening and arrested for possession of an illegal knife.

At 10:22 p.m. England was patrolling the 3300 block of Central Avenue when she saw Matthew Lowe, 22, of Ceres, committing a vehicle code violation. Lowe was on parole and searchable. England found that Lowe was carrying a knife with a 12-inch blade. He was arrested for possession of an illegal knife and violation of parole.

Police also were involved in these other cases:

DRUGS IN BRA - Carla Ryken, 36, of Ceres, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after she was seen stuffing an item into her bra when an officer approached.

Officer James Riley approached three people in the 2700 block of Whitmore Avenue at 11:35 p.m. on Saturday and watched Ryken place something in her bra as if to conceal it. She admitted that it was a meth pipe and when she pulled it back out, bags containing meth also fell out.

TRESPASSER ARRESTED AT EATERY - An officer who came to the McDonald's at Hatch and Herndon on Sunday reports of an aggressive panhandler ended up arresting Barbara McRae, 46, of Ceres, on drug charges.

McRae was on probation and searched and found with a hypodermic syringe. Because she pulled away from the officer she gained a charge of delaying or obstructing a peace officer.

McRae was also arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation.

BIKE RIDER FOUND WITH DRUGS - David Janz, 37, of Ceres, was arrested and booked on drug charges after he was spotted for an illegal method of riding his bicycle on Feb. 25 at Hatch and Mitchell roads.

Because he was on felony probation, the officer could search him for narcotics and found over a gram of methamphetamine tucked in his clothing. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and probation violation.
