A transient man was arrested Saturday morning after he reportedly brandished a knife in a threatening manner after the owner of the Liquor Locker at 1578 Whitmore Avenue, asked him to leave the area behind the store.

The owner had found Richard Coelho sleeping behind the business and asked him leave the area. Coelho reportedly stood up, holding the knife and stating, "If you call the police and I get arrested, I will find your family."

Officers were called at 11:50 a.m. and found Coelho behind the business. The knife was found as well as a baggie containing what appeared to be methamphetamine.

Coelho was booked for brandishing a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor probation violation.
