When Officer Mike Vierra made a traffic stop on a white two-door 1999 Chevy early Saturday morning near Lois and Evans, the car pulled over and the passenger bolted into the darkness. He was apprehended and found with a loaded .38 caliber handgun in his front pocket.

Christian Piscarino, 23, of Modesto, was booked on charges of possession of a loaded weapon, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, and resisting or obstructing a police officer.

The driver of the car in the 1:18 a.m. stop took off and was not located.
