John Dangelo, 26, of Modesto was arrested by Ceres Police Thursday afternoon, Dec. 19 after he was nabbed with several hundred dollars’ worth of stolen Home Depot property in his backpack.

At 2:16 p.m. Officer Kao Saechao was dispatched to the Home Depot to arrest a shoplifter detained by loss prevention agents. Dangelo gave somebody else’s name but didn’t know that person had a warrant issued for his arrest. Dangelo was confronted by that discovery and admitted using someone else’s name.

Dangelo didn’t have a warrant but he was booked on charges of misdemeanor shoplifting charge, and a felony charge of impersonating another to make one liable.
