Local parolee found with loaded gun
Ceres Cop Car

Speeding in a school zone earned parolee Joevonie Frank Hernandez, 24, of Ceres, a traffic stop which led to a discovery that he was carrying a loaded gun, which in turn sent him to the County Jail last week.

At 2:04 p.m. on Friday, a Ceres police officer observed Hernandez travelling at 35 mph in a 25 mph speed limit zone while northbound on Herndon Avenue. Hernandez was also observed sending his Mazda through the stop sign at Herndon and Sonora Avenue without stopping. Because Hernandez is on parole his car was searched and a fully loaded.22 caliber Beretta pistol was found in the center console.

Hernandez was jailed on charges of violating the terms of his parole, carrying a loaded firearm, driving without a license, and being a parolee in possession of a firearm.
