A 41-year-old Ceres man was arrested Saturday afternoon after he allegedly attacked a neighboring tenant of his father’s home in the 1400 block of Grandview Avenue.

A man called 911 at 1:04 p.m. to report that he had been attacked by as Jose Pimentel, the son of his landlord who lives in the same building. The victim and suspect rent rooms inside the residence which are separated by a makeshift door in a hallway.

Pimentel was apparently upset about something and, went outside and began yelling and banging on the windows on the victim’s side of the residence. When the victim went outside to see what was going on, Pimentel began swinging metal tent poles at the victim. The victim was nicked in the abdomen above the waistline. The victim retreated back inside and called 911.

Officer Nicolas Welsh and other officers searched for but unable to locate him. At 8:32 a.m. on Sunday Officer Welsh found Pimentel at his residence, interviewed him and booked him into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for assault with a deadly weapon.
