Brian Washington, 28, of Ceres, was booked for burglary and making terrorist threats after he allegedly forced his way into a residence to assault a female family member, choking her with a phone cord and threatening to kill her.

The victim had moderate injuries but declined medical treatment, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. James Yandell.

Ceres Police Officer Berlier was dispatched to the victim's home in the 2000 block of Milky Way at 1:14 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14. Washington was gone by the time he arrived and after an extensive search of the area he was not located. Later at around 5 p.m. Officer Vince Hooper located Washington and arrested him for the assault.
