A 46-year-old Modesto man was arrested Wednesday evening, Sept. 3 when Modesto Police stopped him as he was driving a U-Haul van reported stolen.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Eric Garcia was in the area of Seventh Street and Crows Landing Road to assist the Modesto Police in a high-risk stop of the van. Once driver Daniel Martin was detained, Officer Garcia took over the investigation. Martin was charged for auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and theft with two or more priors. His passenger was determined to not be connected to the theft and was released at the scene.
Officer Garcia booked Martin into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
