Ceres Police detectives have arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged attempted murder that occurred near Family Pizza on Thursday evening, Oct. 2.
The suspect, 31-year-old Patricio Sandoval of Modesto, was arrested Nov. 13 while police served out an arrest and search warrant for Sandoval at his home in the 1700 block of Poland Road in Modesto. Assisting were the Ceres Police SWAT Team and the State Parole Office. Sandoval was arrested without incident and booked into the county jail on charges of attempted murder.
According to Ceres Police Department Lt. Jeff Godfrey, Sandoval stabbed his 34-year-old male victim multiple times. Ceres Police dispatchers received multiple 911 calls at approximately 10:50 p.m., Ceres Police Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting the stabbing. Officers found the man bleeding near the intersection of Whitmore Avenue and Mitchell Road and rendered emergency medical aid until relieved by paramedics and Modesto Fire personnel. He was rush to a local hospital in critical condition but has since been released and is reportedly recovering at home.
Detectives from the Ceres Police Department launched a comprehensive investigation which led to the Sandoval’s arrest.
