Three women worshiping at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres claim they were victims of sexual battery during gatherings at the church. The latest incident occurred on Easter Sunday when a woman called police about the actions of Francisco Villanueva, 54, of Ceres.

The female victim called police at 10:05 a.m. saying that Villanueva sexually touched her. Villanueva was singled out at the perpetrator as three women said he placed his hand either on their thighs or buttocks while in church and that he was staring at breasts. The women were in their 20s, 30s and 40s, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry. All three wanted to press charges so Villanueva was cited for sexual battery and released.

Two of the women said their incidents happened over the last couple of months.
