Man on bike flees from cops, nabbed
copteaserbox .tif

A Ceres parolee told police that he bailed off his bicycle and tried to run from them on Friday morning because he was scared.

At 9:34 a.m., an officer spotted Ivan Serrano, 31, riding across Central Avenue impeding traffic. He then rode east on Industrial Way where the officer stopped him. Serrano jumped off his bike and ran east while putting his hands around his waistband. He was ordered to stop but kept running until he was tackled to the ground in the 2000 block of Industrial Way. Serrano struggled with officers but was handcuffed. Officers found a six-inch kitchen knife in Serrano's pants pocket.

Serrano also gave a false name. Court documents found in the backpack he dropped indicated Serrano's real name.

He was arrested for resisting arrest, possession of a concealed weapon and parole violation.
