Man reported for peeing on park tree, arrested for public intoxication
Ceres Cop Car

Reports of a man urinating on a tree in Smyrna Park during the Christmas Festival on Saturday evening resulted in the offender being arrested for public intoxication.

At 5:48 p.m., Officer Eric Gallegos was at the event and was approached by a citizen who reported the man's actions and provided a description of him and his location. Officer Gallegos found Daniel Adams, 51, of Ceres, extremely intoxicated and holding an open container of Modelo beer. Adams had watery blood shot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. Adams had to be assisted to stand and walk. Officer Gallegos felt that Adams was so intoxicated that he was unable to care for himself. Adams told the officer that he had been drinking all day.

Adams was arrested and booked at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for public intoxication.

This was the only crime reported or handled in or around the Christmas festival.
