A man was robbed at gunpoint by two men after being tied up at a Ceres motel on Monday, Aug. 10.

Both men got away but one has been identified as Carlos Cruz, 40, of Ceres, because the victim noted a large tattoo of the state of California on his face. The second suspect was described as Hispanic, approximately 6-foot-2 and weighing 300 pounds.

The crime was reported at 11:23 p.m. after the victim managed to untied his hands from his back belt loop at the Howard Johnson Inn. The male reported he opened the door to his room after there was a knock and the suspects pushed him back inside with one holding a shotgun. He was immediately knocked to the floor where he was tied up and told to stay. The robbers made off with his computer and his work truck, which was later recovered at the apartment complex at 5057 Richland Ave.

The victim, who had injuries to his face, still had ropes tied to the back of his belt loop when police arrived.
