Vehicle code violations led to a Merced man being pulled over on the outskirts of Ceres on the last day of 2025 and his eventual arrest for drunken driving.

At 2:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, Ceres Police Officer Greg Houser was patrolling the area of Hatch and Faith Home roads when he stopped Trevor Reagin, 31, of Merced, who was driving a Ford Fusion. While speaking to Regin, Officer Houser detected the signs that he was under the influence of alcohol. Officer Houser initiated a DUI investigation and after participating in a series of field sobriety tests it was determined that Regin was under the influence of alcohol. Reagin was arrested for DUI and later provided breath samples that showed him over double the legal limit. While searching the vehicle, Officer Houser located a white powdery substance suspected of being cocaine, two glass pipes used for smoking methamphetamine and two baggies containing a white crystalline substance.

Reagin was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
