A 39-year-old Ceres man was arrested in a traffic stop early Tuesday morning, August 6 for possession of methamphetamine.

Willie Garcia was stopped by on Rose Avenue near Fowler Road by Officer Matthew Myers at 3:32 a.m. Garcia had a suspended license and two warrants for his arrest for driving on a suspended license.

As he was being arrested, Garcia was found with a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine in his pants pocket. He denied having any drugs in his possession but during a secondary search at the jail, a bindle of methamphetamine was located in a pocket in a pair of basketball shorts he was wearing under his pants. 

Garcia was booked for the warrants and for bringing a controlled substance into the jail.
