A man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Good Samaritan in a mobile home park in the 3700 block of Collins Road.

The alleged assault took place at 6:41 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 7. A 43-year-old man was bleeding from a half-inch cut near his left eye. He told police he had exited his coach to smoke a cigarette when he heard transient Luke Bailey, 50, yelling at a female neighbor. Bailey is known to visit the woman. When the victim went to check on the woman, Bailey allegedly struck him in the face with a bike tire rim and told him to mind his own business. The victim walked back to his trailer to summon an ambulance.

Bailey was apprehended on Jan. 14 and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, according to Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jose Berber.
