A 55-year-old Modesto man was jailed early Friday morning after he was pulled over in Ceres and not only found to be intoxicated but having cocaine in the car.
At approximately 1:04 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Angel Diaz was patrolling the area of Hatch and Moffett roads when he stopped the driver of a Toyota Camry for vehicle code violations. He walked up to Rodolfo Marquez Hernandez, 55, of Modesto and suspected he had been drinking. Hernandez underwent a series of field sobriety tests which he performed consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol. Hernandez was arrested and provided breath samples that showed he was over double the legal limit to drive.
During a search of Hernandez, Officer Diaz located two small baggies containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. Hernandez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI and possession of a controlled substance.
