Modesto man with warrant arrested for weapons in car

A 41-year-old Modesto man wanted on a felony warrant was arrested on Tuesday evening, May 21, after he was found illegally possessing weapons.

At 8:05 p.m., Jason Parker, 41, of Modesto was driving on northbound Highway 99 when Ceres Police Officer Charles Lord-Huff began following his Mercedes C230 and attempted to stop the vehicle for vehicle code violations near the Crows Landing Road exit, However Parker continued to drive several more miles before stopping in a parking lot off of the Kansas Road exit. Officer Lord-Huff conducted a records check and learned of Parker’s warrant. While searching the Mercedes, the officer located shurikens, which are a Japanese dagger and a variation of brass knuckles. Additionally, Parker’s vehicle had expired registration despite having a valid registration tab on his license plate.

Parker was arrested for failing to stop for an emergency vehicle, the felony warrant, possession of shurikens, possession of brass knuckles and altering the vehicle’s registration. He was booked into the Public Safety Center.
