An obstructed license plate led a Ceres Police officer to pull over a Turlock man driving in Ceres which led to a DUI and firearms arrest.

Officer Jon Blount was on patrol at 2:56 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, and spotted the license violation on a Lexus ES300. Driver Jeffrey Larson, 36, of Turlock appeared to be intoxicated. He submitted to a breathalyzer test and was found to have twice the legal amount of alcohol in his body.

Larson was also found to have outstanding warrants for his arrest related to prior DUI arrests.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded firearm, which he is not allowed to legally have as a prior felon.

He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving under the influence, and being a felon in possession of a concealed and loaded firearm and possessing ammunition.
