In a scenario that is becoming all too common in Ceres, a 51-year-old Ceres man was arrested Tuesday evening, Feb. 28 for drunken driving.

At 11:56 p.m., Officer Kevin Roseen was patrolling the area of Mitchell and Don Pedro roads when he saw the driver of a silver-colored Honda Accord violate the vehicle code. When Julio Sarabia pulled over, the officer suspected that he was intoxicated and gave field sobriety tests, which indicated he was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

Sarabia was arrested for DUI and later submitted a breath sample that showed his blood alcohol content was nearly two times the legal limit to drive a vehicle. Sarabia was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
