A 34-year-old Ceres man was arrested for drug possession after two police officers saw what appeared to be an exchange of methamphetamine on Wednesday morning, Nov. 7.

At 9:20 a.m. officers Nicolas Welsh and Matt Berlier were patrolling the 2100 block of E. Whitmore Avenue when Welsh noticed a car parked in the lot of an apartment complex, with a man in the driver’s seat. They were suspicious when a man on foot approached the car and the two made a hand-to-hand exchange.

The officers kept an eye on pedestrian Jason Taijeron, 34, of Ceres and stopped him as he walked across Whitmore Avenue. Taijeron was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a glass pipe used to ingest methamphetamine. He was arrested for possession.
