Two men were arrested Sunday evening after reports they were driving their vehicles erratically in the parking lot of the Stop U Save at 1825 Mitchell Road.
Bystanders called police dispatchers at 9:58 p.m. and police arrived to find both vehicles – a red Mazda CX-7 and a white Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling westbound on Fowler Road. Both drivers were stopped in the 2800 block.
The driver of the Mazda, Adam Nolasco, 37, of Modesto got out of his vehicle and began walking towards the residence. Nolasco complied with officers’ orders and began speaking with Officer Jacob Henn who detected the signs of someone under the influence of alcohol which prompted a DUI investigation.
At the same time, Officer Greg Houser made contact with the driver of the Tahoe, Daniel Haros, 25, of Modesto and initiated a separate DUI investigation.
Both men underwent field sobriety tests which were performed in a manner consistent with a person under the influence of alcohol. Haros and Nolasco were both arrested for DUI, provided breath samples over the legal limit and were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on DUI charges.
