Parents of a man with an extensive criminal background had him arrested on Tuesday afternoon, March 1, for trespassing on their property.

Officer Jon Vera responded to the parents' call to 911 made at 4:26 p.m. from the 2800 block of Dale Avenue. He investigated and learned that the occupants don't want their son on the property and had him arrested. Police arrested transient Jose Raya, 33, for trespassing.

Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. James Yandell said his department has known Raya to have an extensive criminal history including drugs and theft.
