A 39-year-old Modesto parolee who had a felony arrest warrant put up a fight when Ceres Police arrested him during a Monday evening traffic stop.
At approximately 8:23 p.m., Officer Eric Garcia was patrolling the 2900 block of Hatch Road when he stopped Miguel Gutierrez driving a Chevrolet pickup for vehicle code violations. As soon as the vehicle stopped, Gutierrez exited the vehicle and stood in the road. He complied with an order to get back inside the vehicle but proceeded to provide a false name to Officer Garcia. It was determined Gutierrez was on parole and had a felony arrest warrant. As officers attempted to handcuff Gutierrez, he resisted and after a struggle, officers were able to subdue him for the arrest.
Gutierrez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of providing a false name to police, resisting arrest and the felony warrant.
