A 33-year-old Ceres man with warrants who was found asleep in a Kia Optima that was parked in a flower bed was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 24.

At 7:25 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Brian Chandler responded to the Dollar Tree at 2600 Crows Landing Road where Gabriel Govea was asleep in his car, parked in the flower bed. Officer Chandler learned that Govea had a felony warrant for smuggling narcotics into a jail facility as well as a misdemeanor warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
